The Theme Behind The Light

Why The Name "Light Upon Light"?
This organization, in and of itself, is a source of light - a light that is inspired by the sun. We shine our light with the many rays of resources that we provide. We believe that every individual who is differently-abled, has a disease, or a mental illness are a source of light upon this earth.
Hence the name Light (this organization) Upon Light (differently-abled people).

What Are The "Rays Of Resources"?
There are four key areas-our "Rays of Resources" that guide how we develop our resources/ services and how we set our goals. These four rays are: advocacy, accessibility, education, and equality.
We wanted our mission to be easily understood and recognized, which is why these four rays are reflected in our logo.

Why Purple & Blue?
Our founder chose purple and blue for the organization in honor of her mother's favorite colors. She wanted a core part of Light Upon Light to reflect the love and strength her mother gave her.
Through every hardship and struggle, her mother was always by her side-and now, her legacy lives on in every part of this work.

Our Mission Statement
We shine light with the rays of advocacy, accessibility, education, and equality in the hopes of brightening the already existing light that is dimmed within differently-abled people due to the lack of resources and their environment.
