Enlighten

Is an in-school educational program that helps elementary and secondary students develop empathy, inclusion, and awareness toward differently-abled individuals. Delivered through interactive, age-appropriate lessons on Canvas and presented on classroom screens, students learn who differently-abled people are, why they are differently-abled, and the proper terms to use when referring to differently-abled individuals. Each lesson begins with a simple one-page question sheet to guide students’ thinking and reflection throughout the lesson. The lesson emphasizes the inner parts of us—our hearts and minds—and how we are often remembered for how we made someone feel rather than how they looked. It highlights the importance of kindness, understanding, and connection. To deepen understanding, students are invited at the end of the lesson to interact with both electric and manual wheelchairs by touching, pushing, and sitting in them. This hands-on experience builds familiarity, reduces stigma, and encourages a more positive perspective about mobility aids. At the conclusion of the lesson, students will receive a small token of participation (such as a sticker with our organization’s logo and a treat). They will also take home a letter for their parents, sharing what they learned that day and providing more information about our organization.

Sending Light Abroad

Is a global outreach program that supports differently-abled individuals in underserved communities by providing essential mobility aids-such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, and adaptive aids. These aids are donated by individuals, organizations, and medical suppliers, and are carefully refurbished, when necessary, to ensure safety and usability. We work with trusted local partners and nonprofits in recipient countries to assess needs and ensure that mobility aids, along with financial support for hospital and medical expenses reach those who need it the most. In addition, we help create more accessible environments by supporting infrastructure improvements in homes, schools, and public spaces. Our mission is to deliver not just equipment, but dignity, independence, and hope -lighting the way toward a more inclusive world.

Light Desserts

Is a program that empowers differently-abled individuals to safely and confidently use the kitchen opportunity that many are too often denied. Society often assumes the kitchen is too dangerous, too difficult, or simply unnecessary for differently-abled people. In addition, most kitchens and appliances are not designed with accessibility in mind. Light Desserts changes that. In our fully accessible kitchen, participants will learn to bake simple, delicious desserts that are easy to make and light on the stomach. This program fosters independence, creativity, and joy through inclusive culinary experiences.

Big Light Little Light

Experienced differently-abled individuals serve as peer buddies and mentors to younger differently-abled individuals, fostering connection, guidance, and community support.
